Rare antique (ca 1880 era) Victorian miniature purse locket. Features a sweet little double-sided floral and crosshatch design with blue and black enamel detailing on front. If you look closely, you can also see a tiny butterfly next to the flowers! The locket opens at the top with a teeny tiny "purse clasp". The locket dose not snap closed but closes securely. It appears to be a gold-filled piece, unmarked/untested.
It measures 5/8 inch x 5/8 inch (15mm x 15mm) not including the handle, which has dotted detailing on the outside.
Some enamel wear, plate wear and tarnish, as well as nicks and scratches to the metal especially along the sides and bottom.
A rare and wonderful little figural locket to be treasured!
